Streets of Berlin
Commissioned by Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, RIJK has designed a photography project. The street scene of Berlin had to be visualized. The living environment and people in the city have become the face for tourists in Berlin.

In the streets of Berlin I started taking portrait photos of passers-by. In order to create the best possible image of Berlin, I have recorded the people in definitive states of Berlin.
Posters
The project’s mission is to put Berlin more on the map for young people. I made the choice to photograph different parts of Berlin and to convert them into a concept called “Berlin Calling”. Inspired by the culture and appearance of the city.
I AM TIERGARTEN
The green heart of Berlin. In Tiergarten, RIJK took portrait photos to convey the feeling of the city in a visual design.
I AM NEUKOLLN
The vibrant area in the city of Berlin. The area consists of bustling cafes, hip bars and residences for performers and artists. The portrait gives a visual image to the feeling of the city. The circus artist in the picture provides a powerful picture of Neukolln’s creativity.
I AM SPANDAU
The historical area in the city of Berlin. Much of the city’s history lies in this district. The district consists of many museums, cafes and open air concerts. The portrait gives a visual image to the feeling of the city. The man in the photo represents the colorful area in which history is paramount.
